About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Strategic/Commodity Buyer to join our team near Gaesti, Dambovita. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tactical sourcing activities within defined material groups and act as the primary contact for suppliers ("one voice to supplier"). You will collaborate closely with the Commodity Manager, Project Buyers, Logistics, and Manufacturing to ensure effective purchasing strategies, cost optimization, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute purchasing strategies and initiatives in alignment with the Commodity Manager.
• Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations, contracts, and performance monitoring.
• Handle RFQs, price estimations, and sourcing activities for projects and serial production.
• Support planning and forecasting together with Logistics and Manufacturing.
• Prepare sourcing decisions and negotiate purchase prices, frame contracts, and LTAs.
• Conduct supplier development activities and support continuous improvement (VA/VE, BCC, re-sourcing, dual sourcing).
• Provide timely project-relevant information to Project Buyers (pricing, sourcing status, supplier feedback).
• Organize Technical Reviews with Quality and Engineering.
• Oversee contract management, supplier escalations, and data maintenance in ERP.
• Monitor tool lifetime and capacity, manage follow-up tooling procurement.
• Act as interface to local Supply Chain and support supplier quality assurance activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in purchasing, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience with RFQs, sourcing strategies, and cost analysis.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits and reviews.
